நடுராத்திரியிலே! | At Midnight!

"நடுராத்திரியிலே பவுலும் சீலாவும் ஜெபம்பண்ணி, தேவனைத் துதித்துப் பாடினார்கள்" (அப். 16:25).

"நடுராத்திரியிலே" என்ற பதத்தை சற்று சிந்தித்துப் பாருங்கள். ராத்திரி வேளையை பொதுவாக யாரும் விரும்பமாட்டார்கள். அந்த வேளைதான் விஷ ஜந்துக்கள் நடமாடுகிற நேரம். திருடர்கள் கன்னமிட்டு திருடுகிற நேரமும் அதுதான். மந்திரவாதிகள் பில்லிசூனிய ஆவிகளை ஏவிவிடுகிற நேரமும் அதுதான். இருளின் கொடிய ஆதிக்கங்கள் தலைவிரித்தாடுகிற நேரமும் அதுதான்.

நடுராத்திரி என்பது உலகத்தாருக்கு தூங்குகிற ஒரு நேரமாய், சொகுசாக மெய்மறந்து இளைப்பாறுகிற நேரமாய் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால் தேவபிள்ளைகளாகிய உங்களுக்கோ அது கர்த்தரைப்பாடித் துதிக்கிற ஒரு நேரம். வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது, "நடுராத்திரியிலே பவுலும் சீலாவும் ஜெபம்பண்ணி, தேவனைத் துதித்துப் பாடினார்கள் (அப். 16:25).

ஆம், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சரீர பாடுகளைக் குறித்து கவலைப்படவில்லை. சிறைச் சாலைகளின் வேதனையைக் குறித்து துக்கம் கொள்ளவில்லை. ‘தங்களுக்காக பாடுகளை அனுபவிக்க சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைத்ததே’ என்று எண்ணி அந்த நடுராத்திரியிலே அவர்கள் பாடி துதித்தார்கள்.

பழைய ஏற்பாட்டு நிகழ்வுகளைப் பாருங்கள். நடுராத்திரி நேரத்தில் சங்கார தூதன் எகிப்தியரின் பாளையத்திற்குள் இறங்கி வந்தான். பார்வோன் குடும்பம் முதல் துவங்கி எகிப்திலுள்ள அத்தனை பேர்களுடைய குடும்பங்களிலும் புகுந்து தலைச்சன்களை சங்கரித்தான்.

ஆனால் தேவ பிள்ளைகளாகிய இஸ்ரவேலருக்கோ அது பஸ்கா பண்டிகையைக் கொண்டாடுகிற நேரமாயிருந்தது. எகிப்தின் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை கொடுக்கக்கூடிய நேரமாயிருந்தது. அவர்கள் கர்த்தரைத் துதித்துப்பாடி எகிப்திலிருந்து கானானை நோக்கி புறப்பட்டார்கள். தேவபிள்ளைகளே, நடுராத்திரி போன்ற சோதனைகளைக் குறித்து கவலைப்படாதேயுங்கள்.

வில்லியம் மூன் என்கிற ஒரு சிறந்த பக்தன் இருந்தார். அவர் மிகுந்த புத்திக் கூர்மையுடையவர். வாழ்க்கையில் மிகவும் முன்னேறுவார் என்று எல்லாரும் எதிர்பார்த்த நேரத்தில் திடீரென்று அவருடைய கண்கள் இரண்டும் குருடாகிவிட்டன. அவருக்கு பகலும் இரவைப்போலத்தான் இருந்தது. நள்ளிரவின் இருள் அவரை எல்லா நேரத்திலும் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது. ஆனாலும் அவர் அந்த சூழ்நிலையிலும் கர்த்தரைத் துதித்துப் பாடினார். கண் தெரியாதவர்களுக்கு உதவக்கூடிய குத்து எழுத்துக்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்தார். பிற்காலத்தில் அது பிரெயில் என்ற எழுத்துக்களாக உருவானது. மட்டுமல்ல அந்த பக்தன் கண்தெரியாத மக்களுக்கான ஒரு மிஷனெரியாகவே மாறிவிட்டார்.

அப். பவுல், "உபத்திரவம் பொறுமையையும், பொறுமை பரீட்சையையும், பரீட்சை நம்பிக்கையையும் உண்டாக்குகிறதென்று நாங்கள் அறிந்து உபத்திரவங்களிலேயும் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறோம்" என்கிறார் (ரோமர் 5:3,4). உபத்திரவங்களாகிய நடு இரவா? உற்சாகத்தோடு கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள். கர்த்தர் அற்புதத்தை செய்யப் போகிறார்.

நினைவிற்கு:- "தேவனைப் போற்றிப் பாடுங்கள், பாடுங்கள்; நம்முடைய ராஜாவைப் போற்றிப் பாடுங்கள்; பாடுங்கள்" (சங். 47:6).

“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God” (Acts 16:25).

Think a little of these words "At midnight." Generally, no one likes the night time. That is the time when the poisonous creatures move about. It is also the time when the thieves carry out their activities. Only during the nights, the sorcerers involve in acts of sorcery. It is the time when the terrible influences of the darkness are at their peak

Midnight maybe the time for the people of the world to have a deep sleep and rest. But for you, the children of God, it is the time to sing and praise God. The Scripture says, “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were listening to them” (Acts 16:25).

Yes. They were not worried about their physical strain. They did not care about the hardships of the prison too. Even during that midnight, they sang and praised God for allowing them to experience sufferings for the sake of God.

Look at the events of the Old Testament. The angel of sword descended on the camp of the Egyptians in the midnight. He entered into all the families, from pharaoh's to those of the Egyptians and killed all the firstborn children.

But, for the Israelites who were the children of God, it was the time of celebration for the festival of Passover. That was the time for them to obtain the deliverance from the slavery of Egypt. They sang and praised God and proceeded towards Canaan leaving Egypt. Dear children of God do not worry about the tests like midnights.

There was a good devotee by the name William Moon. He was a clever person. When all were hopefully expecting him to become a great personality, both his eyes became blind suddenly. Even the day time appeared to be a night to him. The darkness of the night surrounded him always. But, even in that situation, he praised God through singing. He was the first person to invent the special letters for the benefit of the blind to read. It was this invention which later improvised as Braille letters. Not only that. That blind devotee turned into a missionary for the blind community.

Paul the Apostle said, “And not only that but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3, 4). Are you experiencing the midnight of tribulations? Praise God with enthusiasm. He is going to do miracles.

To meditate: “Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!” (Psalm 47:6).
