நீங்களே சாட்சிகள்! | You Shall Be the Witnesses!

"பூமியின் கடைசிபரியந்தமும், எனக்குச் சாட்சிகளாயிருப்பீர்கள் என்றார்" (அப். 1:8).

நீங்களே கர்த்தருக்கு சாட்சிகள். நீங்கள் சாட்சியாய் வாழவேண்டும் என்று கர்த்தர் விரும்புகிறார். பரிசுத்த ஆவியை பொழிந்தருளினதின் நோக்கங்களிலே அதுவும் ஒன்றாகும். ஆம், நீங்கள் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய சாட்சிகள்.

ஒரு முறை ஒருவர் குடிப்பழக்கத்திலிருந்தும், பொல்லாத துன்மார்க்க ஜீவியத்திலிருந்தும், இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டார். இரட்சிப்பின் சந்தோஷம் அவருடைய உள்ளத்தை நிரப்பிக்கொண்டேயிருந்தது. தெரு பிரசங்கங்களிலும், சபைகளிலும் தன்னுடைய சாட்சியை சொல்ல அவர் வெட்கப்படவில்லை. அவருடைய சாட்சி பல கிறிஸ்தவ பத்திரிக்கைகளில் வெளிவந்தது. அவர் அந்த சாட்சியை எல்லாம் எடுத்து வெட்டி ஒட்டி சுவரிலே தொங்க வைத்திருந்தார்.

காலங்கள் சென்றது. அவர் ஆதி அன்பிலிருந்து குறைவுபடத் தொடங்கினார். முன்பு போல வெளியே சென்று அவர் சாட்சி சொல்லாவிட்டாலும், வீட்டிற்கு வருகிறவர்களிடத்தில் உற்சாகமாய் பத்திரிகையில் வெளி வந்த பகுதியையெல்லாம் சுவரில் இருந்து எடுத்து அவ்வப்போது சாட்சி சொல்லிக்கொள்ளுவார்.

முடிவாக, அவர் பின்மாற்றத்திற்குள் செல்ல ஆரம்பித்தார். ஒரு நாள் எதிர்பாராதவிதமாக அவருடைய நண்பர் அவருடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்து நீ இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டாயாமே! உன் சாட்சியைச் சொல்லு என்று கேட்டார். அவர் தன் மகனை பார்த்து மகனே! சுவரிலே மாட்டியிருக்கிற என்னுடைய சாட்சியை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வா! நான் அவருக்கு சாட்சி சொல்லட்டும் என்று சொன்னார். மகன் போ திரும்பி வந்து, "அப்பா, உங்கள் சாட்சியை முழுவதுமாக கரையான் அரித்துவிட்டது!" என்று துக்கத்தோடு கூறினான்.

அநேகருடைய சாட்சியின் ஜீவியத்தை இப்படித்தான் சாத்தான் அரித்து விடுகிறான். ஒரு காலத்தில் பிரகாசமாயிருந்தவர்கள் பின்னர் இருளடைந்து போகிறார்கள். பழைய ஏற்பாட்டிலே "சாட்சிப் பெட்டி" இருந்தது. அந்த சாட்சிப் பெட்டியின்மேல் சேராபீன்கள் நின்றது (யாத். 25:22). அந்த சாட்சி பெட்டியை ஆசாரியர் சுமந்து சென்றார்கள் (யோசுவா 4:16). அதுபோலவே "சாட்சியின் கூடாரத்தைக்" குறித்தும் நீங்கள் வேதத்தில் வாசிக்கலாம். அந்த சாட்சியின் கூடாரத்தின் மேல் கர்த்தருடைய மேகம் அரணாக நிரம்பியிருந்தது (எண். 9:15).

ஆனால் புதிய ஏற்பாட்டிற்கு வரும்போது சாட்சியின் கூடாரமுமில்லை, சாட்சிப் பெட்டியுமில்லை. நீங்களே கர்த்தருடைய சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறீர்கள். நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு உண்மையான சாட்சிகளாய் விளங்குகிறீர்களா? உங்களுடைய வாய் வெறுமையாய் சாட்சி சொல்லுகிறதைப் பார்க்கிலும், வாழ்க்கை சாட்சியாக விளங்க வேண்டும் என்று தேவன் எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.

நீங்கள் சாட்சியின் ஜீவியத்தை இழக்கும்போது கர்த்தருடைய நாமம் அவமதிக்கப்படுகிறது. கர்த்தர் துக்கப்படுகிறார். சாட்சியின் ஜீவியத்தை இழந்தவர்களை மற்றவர்கள் மதிப்பதில்லை. தேவபிள்ளைகளே, கர்த்தருக்கென்று சாட்சியுள்ள ஜீவியம் செய்ய உங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீர்களா?

நினைவிற்கு:- "ஆபேல் நீதிமானென்று சாட்சி பெற்றான்; அவனுடைய காணிக்கைகளைக் குறித்துத் தேவனே சாட்சி கொடுத்தார்; அவன் மரித்தும் இன்னும் பேசுகிறான்" (எபி. 11:4).

“...you shall be witnesses ...to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

You are the witness to God. God wants you to lead a life of witness. It is one of the reasons for Him to pour the Holy Spirit. Yes. You are the witness to the living God.

Once, a person was saved from his wicked ways and liquor addiction. The joy of Salvation was always filling his heart. He was not ashamed to share his witness in the street preaching and during sermons in the churches. His witness was published in many Christian journals. He kept on collecting all those newspaper cuttings and preserved them by hanging them on the walls.

Years passed by. His enthusiasm began to fade away gradually. Now he refrained from visiting places and rendering his witness, but continued to share his witness with the persons who visited his home. He will show the newspaper clippings which were hanging on the wall and share his happiness.

In the end, he began to slide down. One day, one of his friends visited him unexpectedly and asked him to share his happy experience of how he got saved. The man asked his son to bring the paper clippings from the wall. The son returned and with all sadness told him that 'his witness had been fully eaten by the termites.

Satan destroys the life of witness of many people in the same way. People who look bright at a time become darkened later. The box of testimony was there in the Old Testament and two cherubim were on it (Exodus 25:22). The priests were carrying it (Joshua 4:16). In the same way, you can also read about the tent of the testimony in the Scripture. “...the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony” (Numbers 9:15).

But when you come to the New Testament, neither the box of testimony nor the tent of witness is there. It is you who is the witness to God. Do you remain as the true witness to God? God does not expect mere testimony from you but wants you to live a life of witness.

When you lose the life of witness, the Name of God is put to shame. God is saddened. Others also do not respect those who slide down from their life of witness. Dear children of God, will you submit yourself to lead a life of witness to God?

To meditate: “By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts and through it he being dead still speaks” (Hebrews 11:4).
