நமக்காக! | For Our Sake!

"அவர் நம்முடைய பாடுகளை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, நம்முடைய துக்கங்களைச் சுமந்தார்" (ஏசா. 53:4).

சிலுவையை நோக்கிப் பார்க்கும்போதெல்லாம், "நமக்காக, நமக்காக" என்று நம்முடைய உள்ளமெல்லாம் தேம்புகிறது. சிலுவைப் பாடு மரணங்கள் என்றோ நடந்து முடிந்துபோன ஒரு கதையல்ல. இன்றைக்கும் அது நம்மோடு இணைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு உன்னத நிகழ்ச்சியாய் இருக்கிறது.

அநேகர் இயேசுகிறிஸ்து பூமிக்கு வந்து, சிலுவையில் பாடுபட்டு, மரித்து, உயிரோடு எழுந்தார் என்கிறதை விசுவாசித்தாலும், அவர் தங்களுக்காகவே பூமிக்கு வந்து தங்களுக்காகவே சிலுவையில் மரித்தார் என்பதையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை. இதினால், அவர்கள் சிலுவையின் ஆசீர்வாதத்தின் முழு பலனையும் அடையாமலிருக்கிறார்கள்.

கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு ஏறக்குறைய 600 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வாழ்ந்த ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி, சிலுவைப் பாடோடு தன்னையும், நம்மையும் இணைத்துக் கொண்டு அவர் "நம்முடைய துக்கங்களைச் சுமந்தார், நம்முடைய மீறுதல்களினிமித்தம் காயப்பட்டு நம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தம் நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்" என்று குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.

ஒரு முறை, ஒரு அனாதை சிறுவன் கப்பலிலே பிரயாணம் செய்தான். அவனிடம் டிக்கெட் வாங்க பணமுமில்லை. அடுத்த கரையில் போய் சேர்ந்துவிட்டால் ஏதாவது ஒரு வேலையில் சேர்ந்து விடலாம் என்று எண்ணி எப்படியோ கப்பலுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து பதுங்கி ஒளிந்து கொண்டான்.

ஆனால் கப்பலில் வேலை செய்த தொழிலாளர்கள் அவனைக் கண்டு பிடித்து, கப்பல் தலைவனுக்கு முன்பாக கொண்டு போய் நிறுத்தி விசாரித்தார்கள். அவன் பசியினாலும், துக்கத்தினாலும் வாடினபோதிலும் ஒன்றையும் மறைக்காமல், "ஐயா நான் பெற்றோரற்ற ஒரு ஏழை சிறுவன். வயிற்று பிழைப்புக்காக அடுத்த தேசம் போகிறேன். டிக்கெட் இல்லாததினால் ஒளிந்திருந்தேன்" என்றான்.

ஆனால் அவர்களோ அவனுக்கு இரக்கம் பாராட்டவில்லை. அவனுடைய கைகளிலும், கால்களிலும் விலங்கு போட்டு கட்டி வைத்து விட்டார்கள். சிறுவனோ தேம்பி தேம்பி அழுதுக்கொண்டேயிருந்தான். அடுத்த நாள் ஒரு பெரும் புயல் வீசி கப்பலில் பயங்கரமான சேதமுண்டாயிற்று. கப்பலில் பிரயாணம் செய்த ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஜீவனை காக்கும் கச்சைகளைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு நீந்திக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். கடைசியாக அந்த கப்பல் தலைவன் மாத்திரமே நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான். அவனிடம் மீதம் இருந்ததோ ஒரே ஒரு கச்சைதான்.

அந்த கப்பல் தலைவன் சிறுவனண்டை வந்தான். அவனுடைய உள்ளமெல்லாம் உருகிவிட்டது. அந்த சிறுவன்மீது மிகவும் இரக்கம் கொண்டவனாய் தன்னிடமிருந்த அந்த ஒரே கச்சையை அவனுக்குக் கட்டி கடலில் நீந்தி தப்ப உதவினான். ஆனால் அந்த கப்பல் தலைவனோ தப்பிக்க வேறு கச்சை இல்லாததினால் தண்ணீரில் மூழ்கி மரித்தான். தேவபிள்ளைகளே, இயேசுகிறிஸ்து உங்களுக்காக செய்த காரியமும் இதுதான். உங்களுக்கு நித்திய ஜீவனைத் தந்தருளும்படி அவர் கல்வாரி சிலுவையிலே ஜீவனைக் கொடுத்தார். ஆ, அவருடைய அன்பு எத்தனை பெரிய அன்பு!

நினைவிற்கு:- "முன்னே தூரமாயிருந்த நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தினாலே சமீபமானீர்கள்" (எபேசி. 2:13).

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows” (Isaiah 53:4).

Whenever we look at the cross, our hearts weep with the thought 'it is for me' 'it is for me.' The suffering and death on the cross are not stories of the past. It remains as an event of the Most High connected to us even today.

Though many people believe that Jesus Christ came to the world, suffered, died on the cross and resurrected but they do not accept that it is for our sake, He came to the world and died on the cross. Because of this, they fail in deriving all the blessings of the cross.

Isaiah the prophet who lived 600 years before Jesus Christ, combines himself and us with the sufferings on the cross and says, "Surely He has borne our grief. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities."

Once a boy who was an orphan, was travelling on a ship. As he had no money, he had not bought a ticket for the travel. With the hope that he could secure a job on reaching the other side of the shore, he had sneaked into the ship and had hidden himself.

But the labourers in the ship caught hold of him and made him stand before the captain of the ship for an enquiry. In spite of being hungry and weary, he did not hide anything and openly declared, “Sir, I am an orphan. I am moving to the neighbouring country in search of livelihood. I was hiding there in the ship for the reason that I did not have a ticket for the travel.”

But those people did not show mercy on him. They kept him aside binding his hands and legs and the boy kept weeping. Next day there was a huge tempest and the ship was getting wrecked. All the passengers in the ship began to swim in the sea wearing life-saving belts. In the end, the captain of the ship alone was standing on the wrecking ship and he had only one protective belt in his hand.

The captain came near the boy and his heart began to melt. He pitied the boy and gave the only life-saving belt he had to the boy and helped him to escape. Being left with no device to protect himself he sunk in the sea and died. Dear children of God, what Jesus did for you is similar to this. He gave His life on the Cross of Calvary for giving you eternal life. Oh! How great is His love!

To meditate: “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13).
